Mike Lay, Broker

I grew up in Lombard and am a graduate of Glenbard East High School.  After high school, I attended college at Illinois State University where I met my beautiful wife of 32 years, Michele.  Shortly after graduating from Illinois State, I began my law enforcement career with the Villa Park Police Department.  In January of 2021 I completed 30 years of service and retired as the Chief of Police. 

Michele and I have lived in the Lombard and Villa Park area for the last 28 years.  We have two children, a daughter-in-law and a grandson who all live in the Chicago area as well.  I am a member of the Villa Park Kiwanis Club and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lombard.  My other interests include spending time and traveling with my family, physical fitness activities and music.

I want to continue working with members of the community that I have been such a part of for 30 years and am looking forward to this new career in real estate with G. M. Smith & Son Realtors, an agency that has been working with the community for over a century.  I am looking forward to helping you with your buying, selling or renting experience.
